For those unfamiliar with the series, Game of Thrones (originally started as a novel) chronicles the lives and stories of specific people in the mythical land of Westeros, where creatures such as dragons and zombie-like white walkers exist. The show follows specific families such as the Starks, the Lannisters, the Targaryens, the Tullys, the Greyjoys, and the Baratheons as they struggle for who will rule the ‘seven realms’. One of the main reasons why the show has grown in popularity and become such a staple of the pop culture zeitgeist is its ability to tell human stories through the lens of fantasy and fiction.
